-
Mail and Guardian Book Review

-
A very thoroughly researched page on
Salman Rushdie.
As soon as we have a page about Rushdie, the link will be moved there, but it is so useful that we don't want you to miss it!
Literary Theory and Criticism
-
Literary and Critical Theory,
another cluster of pages from Brown University. A cornucopia of articles on theorists and subjects of theory.
-
Modern Fiction Studies,
a "scholarly journal of modern and contemporary narrative, theory and culture".
-
Physicist
Alan Sokal
shocked the postmodernist world by submitting a purportedly scholarly article titled
"
Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity"
to the journal
Social Text,
only to reveal later on that it was a hoax designed to show up the intellectual hollowness and vanity of postmodernist theory. Sokal has collected his own articles on the subject as well as several comments from the controversy following his denouement
. A must-read for those who are doubtful about the whole business of postmodern theory.
